GEORGE CRAGG

Welcome to the Hassocks and District Angling Society web site.  The club was founded in 1955 by George Cragg and Bill Bailey and has now grown to a membership in excess of 400. The Society has some of the best fishing to be found in the beautiful Sussex countryside, comprising of over 5 miles of river bank on the rivers Ouse, Arun and Adur, 5 large lakes and many smaller waters. They are exclusive to the club, catering for matchmen, pleasure anglers and specimen hunters alike

Yet another record common carp-see the "news" for details

Guest permits (£5) must be purchased before fishing and are required by not only anglers but also observers. They can be bought from Burgess Hill Angling Centre or from:  any committee member on production of a valid membership book.         Please note: they do not allow guests to night fish.

Please don`t leave unused bait on the bank-it leads to an increase in rodents.

As some of you may be aware-the entrance to Upper Hamsey has changed-entrance is now via the first cottages on the A26 from Lewes.

The gang have been working very hard at George Cragg despite the sometimes unkind weather. One offshoot of the weather has been that the pond is beginning to fill up nicely. The staging and swims are well under way and some planting has been started.
